short power loss?

it seems like i can't get everything to be perfect with my system, if it isn't one thing, it's another. anyway. my problem is when i'm drivin down the road, my head unit will shut off for like a split second, sometimes 1 or 2 seconds...either way, long enough to start the song over and piss me off. it just started this morning. i just put a bigger amp and sub in, and am having some voltage drop issues, but i don't think it's related to this, because it doesn't seem to be when the battery gets really low on voltage, it's just kinda random. i can't really think of anything else to describe the problem...
