this is not the first time I received gear with shitty packaging...I never did anything about it before, but this is ridiculous (shipping charge)

thing is...this guy has incredible feedback 907 (100%)

A lot of people have high shipping prices because Ebay cant get a % of shipping. I used to do that as well. I would charge $29.99 to ship 3.5in speakers. I would just start the bid @ $1.00 Most people just factor in shipping and if the price after that is still a good deal than go for it. I have since stopped doing it that way and now for that same item for example, i will just start it and $30.99 and give free shipping. Same price, but the seller makes more buy not getting taxed as much by ebay.

My message to the ebayer:

Hello,

I received the subwoofer. Thanks for sending it in a timely manner.

I am a bit disappointed with the way this subwoofer was shipped. The sub was not properly secured nor safe from damages. All that filled the shipping box was a few newspapers. I recieved the box from USPS with the subwoofer moving around and the magnet poking from the bottom of the box.

I would think by paying $29.99 for shipping I would get a better packaged subwoofer, or at least insurance.

His reply:

I apologize about the packing. We usually try to ship as fast as we can and sometimes we underpack the boxes. We should have done a better job. But we are working on it to ship it as best as we can next time. We apologize again.

what do you all think?

The sad thing is the seller probably thought he packed that woofer well. Seems to be a trend this month with all the horrible pack jobs for woofers i have noticed... Even if you take it to a UPS/Fedex store most of those workers probably dont even now how to properly pack a woofer. A bunch of their brown packing paper and some peanuts is not going to cut it.. It wont hurt to ask for a partial amount of your shipping money back. Worst thing he could do is say no.

agreed.

did you get a chance to put some power to it yet?

My reply:

I do not understand why I was charged $29.99 for a package that cost only $15 to ship, especially with the way it packaged.

It didnt even include insurance or tracking information!

His reply:

Hello, the $29.99 is our flat shipping rate. It covers the shipping charge all over america. Sometimes we get orders from cali or the west. It cost that much to ship there. We just don't know who's gonna win the bid. We also upgraded your shipping to priority mail to get it to you faster. We didn't get tracking because it wasn't going very far and upgraded to 2 days priority. As for the insurance, if its damage or defective we give a full refund. The buyer has to pay for return shipping. We apologize again for the packing.

he shipped from Delaware...Im in NY

I paid $30 to have a subwoofer shipped to me. I won it on Ebay.
Dude sends the sub in a box covered with just newspapers. The sub was moving all around the box.

BTW...USPS charged him $15.20 to ship. No insurance...no tracking! So where did the rest of the money for shipping go?

Luckily the subwoofer has no damage.

What would you do?
leave him negative feedback, turns out they cant give you negative or neutral, a new rule on ebay. left some kid feedback on this handle bar i bought for bike, and it gave me that pop up. they just said to be honest, so be honest, say this kid ***** you on shipping.
