Apparently anyone that has had chickenpox could get shingles..
is their a vaccine for this shit?

I had chickenpox..

It's like a variant of the herpes virus, and yes, there is a vaccine. My Grandpa offered to pay for my shot just because he would never want anybody to be put through the pain that shingles put him through. I believe you have to be in your mid 20's to get it though. I'd recommend the shot to anybody who's had chickenpox for sure.

I, seriously, am a doctor.. vaccine is usually indicated for people over 60 years, medicare will pay for it then. You can get it earleir but wouldnt really reccomend it. Shingles, like chicked pox, is a herpes virus called Varicella. The only real treatment is if its discoved within 48 hours, and without delay, start Valtrex 1 Gram, three times a day,,,,

The pain after the shingles are goine (dry, crusted over) is called post-herpetic neuralgia (nerve pain) and medicines are the older Neurotin tablet (three to four times a day) and newer ones called Lyrica (also, about three times a day.) but IS indicated for PHN. Hope that helps.

Well i just had my 3rd surgery on my hands last week. im doing well from that and i had to go to the er last night cuz of a rash thats on my right side of my chest ,neck,back of my head near my hair line and my glands are killing me. any one eles ever had this?

I got it two years ago, but it was quite mild. The rash was small and only lasted for about 2 weeks. Other than a little bit of itchiness, it wasn't unpleasant.

My suite mate got it this year and it covered his whole body. It was one of the most awful things I have ever seen.
