Shifting gears causes components to cut in and out

I just got my components and amp installed. They are hooked up to an Alpine IVA-D310. Sometimes when I shift gears the speakers will cut out, mildy, and sound staticy. Usually it happens when I shift into neutral. I payed good money to get all this stuff installed at *gasp* Circuity City. I'm just wondering if they screwed something up and I need to take it back to them or is it my fault? Thanks.
