So my potna and i arguin over 2 12" Memphis PR's runnin on 4000 watts. he says it's impossible to do this and i say you can plus i have intentions of adding more subs in the future. whos right?
Good question. It boils down to a couple things. Either the subs or the amp. Either the amp isnt doing anywhere near rated because the PR's are rated at 250wrms or the subs have been rebuilt to take a boat load more power.what amp?
What amp? Do the subs have upgraded soft parts?i dont have it turned up most of the time because i drive an iroc and i like to hear my motor, but for the time being i haven't had a problem he just refuses to believe this is possible i appreciate the answers and the system was installed and recommended by a professional who knew i was going to be adding more in the future
No way those subs are taking that amp at full power with gains set properly. Guaranteed the amp is dialed way back or wired to so the amp sees a high load.Memphis MOJO 1 Ch 4000 Watt Amplifier 16-MCD4KW - i think that's rite...
car shows and for talkikn smak purposesNot trying to bust your Cahoney's here but why would you plan to upgrade subs in the future, have a 4k rms amp, and not want them to be loud because you want to hear your engine.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif
Then they arent on 4K like your OP stated and thus your friend is right.they're not on full power.
