It's like this man.. if you aren't able to turn your setup up to the absolute max volume setting of your headunit you're doing something wrong. So if you ask me.. it's your fault.

If you think your headunit doesnt clip at max volume your doing something wrong.

Unless of course your running a HU that is internally limited to not clip like the Alpine 9887.

A lot of headunits clip before max volume...my alpine starts to clip at 30 but it goes up to 35

good units go close to or all the way to max.. My **** is so loud I don't even worry about it.. my mom hates it when it barely on..

I would just pay for the new amp myself. I think the bigger problem is your mom had to turn your system up to far because it's to quiet.
