Seriously. Tell me what's wrong

So I have my computer up and running for about 3 months. Absolutely no problems, everything runs great. Then all the sudden my windows media player starts having issues. It will randomly skip up when playing a video or a song. The sound cuts out and will come on every once in a while. Media player will play the video in "fast-forward". That's the best way I can describe it. I have updated to the most recent version and still have the problem. I didn't do or change anything. Any ideas?

Not many. It does it all the time. Now it seems like it will play the video/song for about 10 seconds then the sound stops.

free **** and i'm sure even paid **** will ALWAYS fuck up your computer, because it's generally packed full of viruses and memory leaks, etc.. whenever i've gone in to fix someones computer that's what i always find, their little hidden **** collection along with kazaa or some other bull shit program like that to feed their unhealthy habit

check to see if your sound card is coming loose "chip creep" can occur if it gets too hot. Or your sound card might be bad in all, Does it only mess up with windows media player? have you tried downloading a different media player?

Could be something within the code of the files you're playing....it does that to me on certain videos/songs. Try throwing in a CD and seeing if it works correctly. Otherwise I'm out of ideas, especially if you reinstalled windows as a whole already.

Yeah, I've tried other players. It seems that the sound problem is getting worse. Now when I click on something there's a slight delay from when I click and when I hear the sound. Also it will sometimes play music but the music will be very distorted, sort of low and slow, sounds like a scary movie.

Also, the motherboard has onboard sound.
