In my opinion between the mass scamming and newer members crying wolf WITHIN HOURS of sending money I'm trying to think of a way to help the situation. If you are going to buy or sell within the forum maybe you should be forced to have a VERIFIED address and phone number that the Mods have access to? I know that DOES NOT seem very reasonable, but at least for sellers. The forum is becoming huge and a bit out of control with the scamming and guys saying they got scammed the same day they sent money. At least a 48 hour grace period from the time money was recieved could be implemented for either side? Just lookin for ideas fellas.

FUCK THAT

I also think that owners of companies should not be allowed to come into this forum and sell their own shit for profit. Place will turn into a daymn Costco before long.
Not that that has ever happened..
in some forums they have a sponsored section where business' can pay money to post their website or business on the forum. No deals are made on the forum how ever just links and phone numbers. But ive noticed a lot of guys saying i carry all this gear how much do you want to spend too

I think that having an admin who actually showed up occasionally to ip ban the FEW people that do scam, would make a 100X difference vs. what you are proposing. However, since neither idea will be implemented, lets just drink a beer.

No.

The way to handle this is to deal with a responsible seller.

If you are unsure of them being a responsible seller then don't do it, end of story.

And do it through a middle man, such as PayPal. You have a chance at getting your money back otherwise.

You have people on here who just throw their money at people, and it's really no one else business to get involved.

You can file a police report and take it to small claims if you have to.

This is a fact of life when you are dealing online rather than face to face transaction.

The verified address sounds like a good idea. I'm also going go to say that the 48 hrs to ship or at least have some tracking numbers within 48hrs of recieving payment.
im not even saying a tracking number. people have lives im just saying to get back to the guy. ill wait a week before getting heated abt a tracking number... just to have contact with the guy is wat im saying. As long as people talk and let you know the situation.

Bottom line: If you don't want to get scammed when buying something on the internet, don't buy anything. Period. There is no risk of losing your money then. And forums are especially dangerous because anyone can claim to have anything. So, if you don't want to run the risk of losing your money, stay out of the classifieds. End of story.

i agree, but i have seen 3 threads the last week or so of people calling out scammers where it had been just a few hours since payment. So im looking to help out the guy who is busy doing stuff and then is called a scammer the day of payment.

AND AGAIN THIS IS JUST TO SEE IF ANYTHING WILL CHANGE TO MAKE IT EASIER AND MORE SAFE FOR BUYERS AND SELLERS ALIKE.

Judging by the actions of some of these mods, in no way do I want them to have my address and phone number readily available.
