Selling Question

Okay I already know I'm going to get made fun of but thats okay. I got my first system for my car in January and I didn't do any research about who makes the best car audio equipment. And of course I live in a small town so there isn't any car audio shops around. Well to get to the point I bought everything in Sony Xplod. I bought the Head Unit, Subwoofers, Amp, and front and back speakers. Noe I'm realizing that its not a good system at all, especially after reading the stuff on this message board. So I'm looking to sell my equipment but I have no clue how much to sell it for. Right now I'm only looking to sell my Subs and Amp because I still need a radio in my car until I purchase my new stuff. Here are the model numbers so you can help me decide on prices. All of this stuff is new, havent had it more than 6 months, no scratches or anything.

2 12" Sony Xplod XS-LD125P5

&

1 Sony Xplod AMP XM-DS1600P5

When I went to a car audio shop about 30 minutes from here they said that I didn't need that big of an AMP for my subs but I didn't know. I just bought what I thought was the best. Which come to find out I'm a dumbass. So any help you guys/girls could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for the quick reply. But it sounds okay, I'd like to have something louder, is there anything I could do to make the subs louder. Right now there are in just sealed boxes, nothing special. And no one in my family is good with Car audio so I am afraid to turn my amp up because of blowing my subs. Any suggestions...thanks in advance, and sorry for being a newb at this stuff.

Well I just graduated from High School and I got about $2500 from it, but I'm not wanting to spend it all on car audio. I'm not a spoiled rich kid either, I had to save up money to even by my crappy little car and first system. I have a 2000 Pontiac Sunfire by the way. Its not the car I want but it gets me where I need to go. Any advice on equipment that won't cost me a fortune, but is better than what I have. I know just about everything...lol

my first subs were sony xplods i bought at walmart. they blew several times, and i kept returning them to walmart for new ones. once i just pressed ever so lightly on the cone of one of the subs, and it cracked in half. anyways i sold both subs for $40 to a kid at school. your best chance of selling would be on ebay. not too many on this forum buy sony.

Yea I've noticed that, these weren't the ones from Walmart but still pretty much the same thing. Maybe I'll just try to sell my stuff to one of my stupid friends who thinks that its awesome. Hardly anyone around here has a system and if they do, its alot worse than mine. Which is pretty bad.

I think the best bet is selling it locally..... you could probably get 150-200 from someone....

as far as getting new stuff, give us a budget and recommendations will be made, then its your choice from there. can you install all of this stuff? If not my suggestion would be to use your sony stuff to install a couple of times.

As of right now $1500 would be my budget. I just quit one job to get another and I haven't started working there. And yes I can install the stuff myself. It was kinda difficult the first time but luckily my dad worked for the FBI and his main job was wiring cameras on undercover cars, so he helped me alot with the wiring.
