Selling Ava, recommendations for replacement 18's

This is going in a extended cab 95 1500 - no backseat so I have some room to play with, looking at one 18 possibly 2 cheaper sq 15's... Budget is 300. I am using MD2D to power this.

- Havoc

- There are some other XBL subs out there but I have no idea what the name of them is, but they are used for home audio and are reasonably priced

- FI Q

Got any other ideas?

Maybe I'll do that 18 sealed. hmmz. I wonder if it would hit the lows sealed as loud as my ava does right now ported at 30hz. Looking for improvement on the top end.

I don't think that Maelstrom will work, its dual 8ohm... Can they do custom coils?

I am cool on the DD for now, played with enough DD's to get tired of that phase. I have been spoiled by the low end output and crisp sound of my Avalanche... Need something similar. If all I listened too was old school rap with bass in the 40-60hz range that'd be cool, but if anyone trys to tell me they (9500's) play low clean and LOUD at 30hz, hasn't played with anything that gets really low. Unless maybe they are talking about the 9112 - and I have no money for that. That would be like someone telling me that Ava's hit 50hz hard, that's a lie, they fall flat on their face. My mids poly mids will pick up the 60hz business, don't need a sub for that.

I am working with 1500wrms @ 1ohm, and it wouldn't do that AQ justice anyways.

Whats the verdict on CSS SDX? MD2D too much for it?

That Maelstrom sounds like just the sub for me, but its ****ing dual 8ohm.

I'd really like to just find a 18 XXX, or Ava... blah

Get a IXL18 and be happy...if you liked the ava you'll like the IXL.
