Here is the skinny, I have an older Kicker KX1200.1 thats pushing a DC Sounds Level 4 18". Sounds great, but im ready to upgrade. I wanted to do (2) DC Level 4 15"s but their is one problem...their only ava in a DVC 2ohm.
Which means, to run the pair, id need something that puts out power at either 2 ohms or 0.5ohms. I though about looking for a KX 2500.1, but all the used ones ive seen are in the $400 to $500 range, and for that price, I can get a Sundown 2000d and run it at 0.5ohm.
Ive found a nice amp that will put out the power I need for a great price, just not sure if thats the best route to go.
I guess my question is, what would you guys do?
Sell my current KX 1200.1, scrape up the funds, (and hope the amp is not sold between now and then) and purchase the amp im looking at when I have the money, or..
Try to find another Kicker KX 1200.1 to strap to my current model.
