I'm about to pick up a set but stuck at the tweeter. I know people say metal dome tends to be bright and harsh..but the guy at the audio store told since it is lotus tweeters, even if its aluminum it won't sound harsh.

I'm leaning towards the fabric tweeters...what do ya think?

yes i run the lotus alum tweets and they do not get harsh at all. don't take it that all metal tweets are harsh. remember that install install, it huge in whether the tweeter performs at its best. these tweets are awesome. very detailed and can be crossed very low for a compact tweet. the top end isn't as good as my LPG 25NFA but they are no slouch on the top end. much smoother and more natural than the lpg's. but its all personal preference. maybe slain93gsr can chime in since he's used both. but i'd get the alums //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif.

I've used both sets and i'm currently using the Alum tweet.... Even at loud volumes the tweeter never becomes overbearing. The fabric tweeter for me lacked a bit in the high end. Both are very nice tweeters and built like a tank...

I ended up with the alum tweet based on its reviews from peter and havent been dissapointed one bit.

yea i am i will be using passive xover that comes with the set. I'm probably going to put the tweets somewhere by the A-pillar, if not the dash area around the A-pillar.

I am using the Fabric Ref tweeter on the dashboard aiming directly at me, so far so good. As I get irritated easily with harsh tweeter (sit in too many irritating Focal TN52 set-up), I went with Fabric rather than Alum but I heard the Alum Ref set-up on panel and they are pretty smooth too.

you can't go wrong with either, but I personally use the Fabric myself. I suffered aluminum poisioning from my Infinity Perfect 6.1's. I think they fabrics are so smooth and lifelike. Voices sound like they are in the car with you, very full bodied and natural. I love the tweets very much, we are getting married next week.

If i care about more vocals in a song than highs...will fabric be a better choice?

I do used to own a pair of Infinity perfects before (sorry, I was 17) yea sometimes even vocal from a song stings my ear.

Oh and Peter, I can't wait to put that Helix amp into good use!

why don't you give both a listen and see for yourself which one you like more? i think you live some where in so cal and i know they have audio shops that carry seas lotus. give it a shot. if not then i guess you seems like you would be leaning towards the fabric which has also gotten great reviews.

and yes hook that helix up and show it off. that is one sexy amp!! let us know when you hook it up.
