Searching for new components

I believe im using the CDT CL-61's right now, one of the mids went out though im not sure why, either way i was looking to step it up a bit. they were loud but i'd like to get louder. I am on a bit of a budget, Forget who i ordered them from but it was someone here for 225$. For me, mids/highs are more important than the base so I'd like to get as crystal clear and loud as i can afford. It doesnt necessarily have to be CDT but i'd like to get something that is going to be stepped up from the CDT CL-61's. Also im using an MTX 3200 amp to push them and it was fine for the ones i currently have, do you think switching amps would help with the better louder sound or am i fine with the 3200?

After looking them up it is the ef-61's that im using, with the carbon cone. I forgot to also mention they're going in a 05 saturn. I wasnt using any backspeakers, well they're a pair of kenwoods but you cant even hear them at all over the cdt's anyway, so would it be smarter to step up the front compoonents or get 2 pairs of the ef-61's. or would a rear pair mainly just fill and not create a much louder sound.

depends on what you like and how you want your sound. i personally like having no rear fill, i just turned my back speakers off. what's your budget for speakers?

If your soundstage is primarily up front due to the components, then yeah, rear speakers would be just for fill at best. What kind of Saturn is it and what are the size and locations of the factory speakers?

My budget well if im getting just a pair of components ill prolly go up to 350 max. Its an 05 saturn ion that uses 6.5's in the doors and at the rear window. Im really not worried about fill and if i wanted too i could just run the old tweets from the cdt's i have now in the rear to add a bit of fill. Its only the front im really concerned with

Nah, best suggestion I can give you is ditch the rears altogether to keep the sound stage towards the front and put a small sub or 2 back there. Ever look into the Alpine Type-X components? (SPX-177R)

Scroll through the posts, this question has been asked a zillion times. Read as much as you can. Alternatives, equal to and better than CDT exist for the same price. If you don't mind used, a smokin deal comes by now and then.
