Sealing my doors...

I plan on deading my door in the near future, but I had a couple of questions.

I know for the big holes, I can use roofing flash (think its called that lol) to cover them, but my concern is that box in the bottom of the door. How do i seal the door and still have that where it needs to be?

Im positive I can remove it, and reinstall after im done, just not sure how to make sure the doors are sealed well.

Going to be using some Second Skin for the install if that helps.

Roof flashing like you said for the big holes. I have my doors deadened and still need to get some roof flashing to fill those in. I have one gigantic hole I need to cover, but I still get some great mid bass response, which is surprising considering the big gaping hole!

If you think you can take your window mechanism off and put it back on, then just take it off and see if you can deaden over it and put it back on and bingo, bango, you are set!

Also that is a big speaker hole, what kind of ride you have? Look like 6x9 holes. Also what set are you thinking of going with.

You know I will just recommed my set, lol! The 720c Pioneer Premiers. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Of course I know your recommendations //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have the Blaupunkt VC 100 tweeters and ID oems, running active. (see sig)

Originally, planned on just running kick pods upfront, but decided to get the bottom of my doors glassed for the midbass drivers and deaden the door properly.

If I go this route which im almost certain, im going to get another pair of the ID Oems from Hessdawg and run (2) per door with the single tweeter on each side.

I figure that should sound nice and be enough midbass:veryhapp:

And the car is a 2004 Ford Crown Victoria, thats a 5x7/6x8 opening up top. I hate that location because its such a bias in the car, the driver side speaker is much closer to my right ear than the passanger side so it tends to drown out the other speaker. Thats one of the reasons I though about doing a set of kick panels.

Im seriously temped to make a baffle and put the IDs in that location until i get the doors done. Been running them active and tuning them in different locations in the car and they sound wonderful and quite loud.

I don't think the box will matter much as long as its almost sealed and the rest of the door is well sealed. Think of it this way, what's the difference between a sub in a free air, and in a sealed box with some leaks? Huge. Whats the difference between a sealed box thats a little bit leaky, and a sealed box thats perfectly sealed? realistically not a huge difference, especially in the upper frequencies (50+ range)
