Seal a Ported box

I have two type R's enclosed in a ported box. The port is 10.75x27.5x1. The car shakes way too much and I wanted tighter bass. I was thinking of getting plywood measuring 10.75x27 3/8 x 1.

Any ideas how to close this port? simpler ideas, or will the wood work?

thanks

Cant handle the bass bro? I got some extra 5 1/4s ill trade you for the arrrrrhhhhs

seal the box port with wood and screws and caulk. take 1 sub out, put inside the box some scrap wood (2x4s) 10 inch lengths, about 15 or 20 of them, glue and screw them down. put sub back in, your box will now have tighter bass.
