Seafoaming an engine?

did it to mine, didn't really notice a difference aside from smoking out the neighborhood. it is supposedly supposed to help out gas mileage, provide a little more power, and just be good maintenance though.

Cleans out some deposits and lubricates the fuel system. Transmission fluid is very high in viscosity and detergents.
I use to run a quart of transmission fluid in my oil for 1k miles and then change it. Smokes quite a bit more, but cleans out the engine quite well.

Used it as you described as well. Works wonders on carbon buildup.

after reading this thread, I seafoamed my 01 sunfire (2.2l) which has 120k on it. It didnt make much smoke at all, suprisingly, but I notice MUCH better throttle response, and it easily revs up now and wont bog down. I put ~1/2 can in vacume tube (orig connected to brake booster), and other 1/2 in the gas.

I read around, and its pure petrolum, so it wont harm, but if you have a REALLY dirty engine thats really old and carboned up, I hear removing the actual deposits will sometimes remove the actual air tightness around the seals since that was the only thing holding compression since some of the actual metal (or w/e) has been worn away. This could possibly create a leak this way..but I wouldnt worry about it 95% of the time in modern engines. I got a can at the auto place and it was like 7 bucks.
