SD-10's or ID-10's?

Looking for thoughts on 2 SD-10's or 2 ID10's v.3

Subs will be sealed in .5ft^3 each with the appropriate amp to power them (haven't bought it yet).

I know they will both have decent sound quality so I'm looking for comparison in terms of spl.

The ID's have 17mm xmax compared the the SD's 12mm. However the SD's have a higher power rating and lower efficiency - Better for tiny box right? Soo if I throw gobs of power at them = louder than the ID's?

I've graphed them in winisd (online version). The top line is the ID.

Thoughts?

I'm kinda in the same place you are, but I'm looking at running either 2 of the Dayton Audio RSS265HO-44 10" Reference HO DVC Subwoofer 2 Ohm or 2 TC Sounds Epic 10" DVC Subwoofer. Both are tight, musical, accurate subs driven @ 1 Ohm

Mounting depths:

SD-10: 4.75"

ID-10: 5.25"

Dayton HO-10: 5.37"

Epic 10: 5.6"

Supposedly the max depth I can go is 5.25" but I'm also curious about the HO and epic just for the hell of it.

How about the IDQ v.4's? They have a mounting depth of 5.81''. I have about 7'' of mounting depth to play with so those too may be a good/better option for me. I also looked into the JL W3v3 which has a mounting depth of 5.93''

I didn't include those due to price. Also, I may be able to squeeze a quarter inch more of mounting depth but no way almost an inch so they're out for me.

If you pop the plastic magnet cover off of the ID it is only like 5" of mounting depth and the IDv.3 will work great in .5ft3 sealed enclosure

Anyone care to do some modeling to shed some light on this?

I'm open to other suggestions for subs - space is limited to 1.5ft^3 total and mounting depth of 5.25" going behind passenger seat of '08 f250.

So far 3 10's is the plan. Not interested in ported.

Im assuming your F250 is a regular cab? In your case I feel 2 maybe 3 10" SD's on a nice big amp should work well.

Im looking at subs for an under the seat box for my 05 Silverado.. Im going to have 7" of depth to play with so that will be nice.

It's a crew cab. I've had older f250's with subs behind the seats and think they sound much better than under. Had a friend that had his downfiring under the seat and they didn't sound nearly as good as mine - you sure felt them more though!

I may wait until the sd3's come out and get 2 12's to keep it simple - according to Jacob he's going to make the parameters more sealed box friendly in the next edition.
