Well, my dad and I came across a great deal on a 2007 Scion tC. We're thinking of selling my Grand Prix and getting it. If anybody on the fourm drives or has owned a tC, what'd you think of it? How easy was installing any audio equipment? How'd you like its performance? If you've ever owned one, just give me a quick run-down on its features and how you liked the vehicle. Thanks!

i fixed it. i typed princecmo at first, then realized it was a 3, and when i pressed enter it came out as prince cmo lmao
Now he gets 2 free mentions. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

nice cars for the price. I loved mine

Installing audio equipment is about as easy as taking a dump.

Performance, meh. Not fast, never will be fast (unless you really go all out)....can be fairly quick with a turbo

The ride comfort is ok....corners nicely. The panoramic sunroof and reclining rear seats are smexy. Hoes love it.

I debadged mine and ppl who didn't know cars were constantly asking me what kinda car it was.

They can be made to look pretty good as well. Especially if u like the stock look, a few mods can have it looking darn nice.

Reliable AFAIK.

If your system is any good, the headliner will come loose and rattle enough to drive you crazy. Also, the silver plastic ring on the door will come loose if you have enough midbass. But, these are fairly easy fixes.

All in all, I'd recommend a tC to anyone who's into smaller cars with potential (audio and visual). Though, they are pretty slow, depending on your town, if u know who to race and who not to, you'll be fine. They are pretty fun to drive for such an inexpensive car too. 2 ppl on campus got tC's because of mine and both of them love them to death. The main reason I traded mine is I simply wanted 4 doors...got sick of having ppl climb behind my seats n crap. The extra power I got is a plus too.

The Grand Prixs are real go-getters that can really get moving when you hit the pedal, so if I traded, I know I'd miss that. The four doors would also be something I'd miss. But thanks for the extensive review, it's what I was looking for. If you know any other tC owners, direct them here. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I found one on CL that's a flint mica (or w/e the color is) with a really nice looking spoiler, I think it's the stock one on some models. I found a similar white one with a fully black roof, it looks pretty nice as well. I'm not sure which car's interior I like better. (GP or tC)

Again, thank you!

@DCtC is another tC owner also @jtomsic

Manual 1st gen tC's are supposed to run around 15.8 in the quarter, 3.8 n/a GP's run low 16s. The tC is a little quicker from a stop, but they will be closer from a rolling start, with the advantage going to the GP the higher starting rolling mph due to more torque and taller gearing up top.

I'm a bit of a track whore //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/nerd.gif.c6fa51ddf7ff75f1c0371fbc648f70ae.gif or nerd, whichever way you wanna slice it

Also, if your GT2 is stock, the speed won't be a big difference if any...don't the 04 GT2's run 16's in the quarter and have like an 8 second 0-60 time?
The tC will actually beat a stock GT2, AFAIK
Hmm..shouldn't be too bad then.

Also, may I say, that lady is looking fine.

Great car. Almost Lexus build quality and finish. It is a Toyota so you get that peice of mind that it will last and retain value unlike new GM. They are a SOAB to get loud as I am figuring out now.
Care to explain? The one we're looking at isn't a hatch, that kinda sucks.
