Scammed!!

A buddy of mine just called me and said that he was bidding on a lcd screen on ebay awhile back, but lost.

He emailed the seller sayin he was interested, and the seller said he had another one and told him to send money, and tht hed ship the next day..

So as a retard my buddy sent the money, and after 3 weeks he hasnt herd anything from the guy.

Legally/ ebay wise/ paypal wise, what can he do since it was not a ebay auction???

He may be screwed. He should have used a second chance offer. If ebay doesnt have a record of the transaction then the buyer is not covered under ebay's protection policy.

If he didnt use PayPal, I hope he sent a USPS money order.

That makes the fraud a federal offense.

Its' not fraud unless it's over 400 dollars. The scammer will get away with it, guaranteed. It's just lovely how that shit works isn't it?

Anyone who just throws money to someone in tha mail.. deserves to get it taken.

Especially if he didn't check for references.. didn't get a phone number or anythang.

It's a good idea only hand someone you TRUST hundreds of dollars.. wait, not a good idea.. but COMMON SENSE.
