Sawzall???

My buddy thinks that he can cut all the wood for his box using a sawzall. I told him I don't think it will make clean enough cuts and the quality of the box will be lower than normal and he would have to do alot of sanding. Am I right or is he right?

yeah ive worked with some skilled craftsman and even their work with a saws-all is nothing to brag about saws-all's are made for demo.

I don't know about a sawzall? But I've built boxs with just a jig. It might be possible.

A sawzall isn't meant for precision work. it is meant to do exactly what the name implies: saw shit apart, period.

If your friend is very, very experienced with his tool (boy, that doesn't sound good, does it?) he might could pull it off but I think he'd be much happier with the results of using a different tool.

x2. we tried using a jigsaw, and none of the cuts were anywhere near straight. you're best bet is a table saw or lowes/home depot (even tho they aren't too straight either).

Ok im gonna let him cut it out and try to get pics of his shitty craftsmanship. Should be funny as hell to watch him try to put it together. I have a jigsaw that i said he could use, but he said he wants to prove me wrong.
