OK, update 1. I have might lost a little signal, but the only way to tell is to watch the signal level indicator on the sat tuner. I hardly ever watched the indicator before though, so I an not sure of any change there. I do know that so far the sound is the same, but I havent traveled much yet. I'm doing a road trip on fri. and I'll know more after I get home. I do know that there is some flexibility in how and where sat antennas are installed, the roof is not the only option.
