Safe with 800 watts?

Will 800 watts be to much to run of stock electrical in a 96 grand am. (The alt. is 105 amps)

really? Also what gauge of wire should i use with the amp (an mtx 801d) Would 4 gauge work or would i have to use 2?

4 gauge will be fine for 800watts RMS just remember to upgrade your batterys - terminal ground wire to 4 gauge as well, oh, and the engine block ground strap.

4 guage will do it. But if you can get your hand on 2 guage, you might as well in case you want to upgrade later on.
