Sad Day for Me

Well I wanted to say good bye but I knew that he was in terrible pain, These last couple of months have been hard on him, He got in a fight with a pit bull (he was a black Lab) about a year ago, and he actually didnt do to bad against the pit, but still he had some war wounds. Also he was deaf for about the past 6 months. and on top of all of that the vet said that he had developed an alergy to DIRT and GRASS. Keep in mind that he was an outside dog. Im comming home this weekend to go to the SEC championship game, and They could of kept him on some sort of life support until I got in wedneday night, but I went ahead and told them to euthanize him, I knew that, that was the right thing to do.
That's crazy sad man //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

We put my dog down this past Jan. She went deaf about a year and a half ago, then she got some lump in her chin that made her rub it all the time so her hair fell out.... add in the fact that her hips were almost totally gone and it was her time.

It will get better. Hopefully you can get a new puppy to be a friend. It wouldn't replace the old dog but it will help you remember how good it was //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I feel your pain. In the last two year I have lost 2 dogs and 2 cats. I had the dogs for almost 15 years and the cats for over 10. Its a hard time for the first few days. It sucks when people dont understand how much an animal can mean to somebody. I like animals more than people.

I am in a situation too with my dog. She is a German Shephard that is going on 12. So in dog years that is pretty old, plus she is a big dog. It sucks to know all the good times will become good memories. I feel for you and I am sure I will be posting in the very near future about me having to put my dog to sleep. It was hard for me to let my other German Shephard go because she was so good. That was over 12 years ago. I was still young then and it hurt. We waited a few days and that was all it took till we went and got Zoe. Now it is 12 years later and she is dieing right before me. So as much as I love this dog I will probably be getting a new one soon as I am an dog lover. So maybe get yourself a new puppy. Trust me it will help with the hurt. Good luck!

my dog died when it was 16 and its favorite place to sleep was under the deck and he could barely squeeze under there. one day we never saw him but there was this horrid smell coming out from under the deck. about a week later when no one could stand it anymore my dad looked under there and my dog was all dead and bloated. he had to grab it and drag it out, it was horrible

here is a funny pic of my dog after he stole the cat's bed:

They are pretty funny I think, and I hope they make you laugh a little too- one more reason why you have to love a dog, they will do anything to be close to you. I will be a wreck when I have to do something with my dog 5-7 years from now.

We have a 13 year old yellow lab, that's honestly ready to go. Great dog and all, but His hips are bad, he's got little fatty tumors everywhere, he's been almost completely deaf for a year, and I'm pretty sure he can't see more than shadows and such. Last year we had a 9 pound tumor removed from his abdomen, he looked alot better for a while, but now he's starting to look like he did with the tumor.

I'll be releived when he dies. He's had a good life.

Our dog is 14, got arthritas, deaf, I'm not looking forward to when that dog dies, had it for a looooonnnnggg time, but since me and my brother are at college now, i suppose its gonna pass on sometime soon, that dog get so dang happy when we come home, its kinda humerous.
