Sa12 blew

Take the subs out of the box. Could be a pile of smoke waiting inside. Could have also bottomed it out and broke the former
tinsels seem fine, no smoke when i took it out of the box coil is still super clean, sub is only about a month and a half old. anyway to check on the bottoming out idea?

Any chance it could be the amp? Your making it sound as if the subwoofer has nothing wrong with it, makes me believe to point the finger elsewhere maybe?

Have you measured the resistance of your coils yet?

Check the coils ohm readings with a digital multi meter. I just read over your first post. It sounds like something amp or signal or wiring related, not sub related. It sounds like one of your wires on the sub might have come loose. Take it out od the box.

Yeah, why did you just assume you blew the sub? If there was no smell or smoke and the coil looks fine, not locked up, why did you assume the sub was the problem? If there's no rubbing when you push on it and the coils read out fine, check amp connections

Pics of said blown sub?

If it indeed bottomed out while playing low notes on bass heavy songs, you would have heard the meachanical issues from it....kinda like metal to metal=not good for the sub.

found the issue didnt blow the sub...the 1 speaker wire from the amp to the sub somehow "crimped" itself off and the other side of the lead was somehow still in the amp connection spot... just sitting there. I feel extra special right now. in my defense it was dark out?

I feel your pain mate. I thought I blew one of my tweeters for about a month before I figured out that the fade on my radio was somehow set over to the passenger side by one click. Everything played, it just sounded off. Drove me absolutely nuts.

Glad you got it figured out =)
