Sa 12" vs w6 12"

By comparison the W6V2 has a similar linear x-max (albeit the curve is a bit flatter and more even) and a more linear spider (the sample linked on DIYMA was not centered correctly but the CMS curve is quite flat on the W6V2) -- BUT the SA-12 does pull ahead on inductive distortion as the W6V2 does not address this and the SA-12 uses dual Faraday rings.

In terms of analysis -- CMS distortion is even order and "warm" sounding so the SA-12 will likely sound a bit warmer due to have more of this type distortion. Inductive distortion is odd order and sounds unpleasant so this is a plus for the SA-12 here; but Inductive distortion is only responsible for about ~10% of total audible THD on a subwoofer so it's not MAJOR. The more even BL curve on the W6V2 is a plus for it in terms of THD as well.

Just throwing it out there that by objective standards the SA-12 is no slouch in terms of distortion //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif It's not designed as a reference SQ driver but either but will hold it's own.

i can tell you had a pair of 12's w-6 sound quality good spl or db's not i switch to sa12's and a box tuned at 32hz uhm blew the jl's away to me theres no comparison sa's over jl all the way here

sound quality jl is great but consider you can get a pair of sa 12's for the price of one jl w-6 that to me is a no brainer you'll be very please with the sundowns and save $$$ to boot
