I wanted some bass in my truck and decided I was going to do a small setup for daily use. So I ordered a SubThump box, didn't want to deal with the angle of under the seat. That box will be filled with a Mach 5 Audio IXL 10". After ordering that I decided to see about possibly doing a ported setup for the hell of it. Basically means I lose a seat in my truck when running this setup. So I decided to have RAM_Design design a ported enclosure for the SA-12 I ordered. We decided on 1.85ft^3 tuned to 32Hz. The design and cutsheet from RAM made it extremely easy for us to build the box quickly without measuring 50 times to be certain. This is the first ported box I have ever built, so it was all new to me.

Anyways the SA-12 is absolutely amazing! I am so impressed by this sub and I haven't turned the amp up beyond half way yet, figured a nice breakin period would be nice.

Well here are the pictures of the ported setup... Note the last picture, thats the amp rack which will soon hold the amp with nice and neat wires!

Factory Nav... I love this way too much to give it up for an aftermarket DD.

I will probably put the seats back in it tomorrow. Then hopefully carped the box at the very least in the next couple weeks. I'm pretty happy with it, especially for a first attempt!

It's the 60/40 rear split seats. So the sub will stay where it is with the 40 split folded up out of the way but at least still in the truck. This setup will not be in the truck as much as my under seat setup that I will be finishing in the next week or so as well.

ah ok i was wondering.

i did the 60/40 deal as i have no one riding with me except up front. sadly i dont have any room for under seat setup //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

just curious do u like ur RE 8s, or do u think u might have liked sundown 8s after hearing the 12?

My RE8s were OK at best... I think the SA-8 is a much better choice if they are built anything like the SA-12!
