Whats up people. Decided to join up after a little reading.
Debating on either a 10w3v3-2 or 10w6v2
Little info before my ?:
Car: 06 stang
Amp: Alpine MRD-m500 (friend sold to me awhile back, now I want to use it)
Where in trunk: towards back behind backseat firing towards rear
Sub: 1 10inch sealed.....either a 10w3v3-2 or a 10w6v2
I was comparing the 2 on RMS rating. W3 was at 300 rms(optimal) and the w6 right under 500 rms pretty much in orange. I got this from the power range meter on JL's website. Difference in price favors W6 by about 80$. I'm not going to blast this all the time. Maybe here and there. I'm not that much of a bass freak.
I'm eyeing the W3 mainly for price. I can use the 80$ difference for wire, dynomat or whatever. My only concern was that since the amp is rated at about 500rms, according to pwr range of speaker, that's putting it in the "danger zone". Correct me if I'm wrong but can't you use more pwr than sub is rated at as long as you don't crank all the way up and for a long period of time.
Any advice, thanks
