Say I want to run 2 Kicker L7 12's at much more rms than they are rated for.. lets say 1000 rms each on the light side.. maybe 1500. If this is in a daily driver, what are the chances i'm going to be buying new subs soon?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/up2something.gif.dd110ecf3ae4b76050d87598f2f8de7c.gif

Re-read it...he said each.

Whether or not you could safely overpower them is most dependent on the enclosure size/alignment...if it's larger than recommended, power handling is going to be decreased.

So im going with a box that is slightly larger than recommended, I'd probly be better off saving money and buying a 1500 Watt rms amp instead of something in the 2000 range, or an orion 2500d?

There is nothing wrong with overhead but you might be asking for trouble doing that. I would find something that matches the subs a little more. You could run with you gains run low but eventually you will want to try to increase the gain to get more output and could possibly blow you subs.
