I have a question for you all. I have added a second battery to my tahoe. An Optima Yellowtop. Now, my question is...

Do I need to run a - to - as well as a + to + to the second battery, or can i just ground out the second one to the chassis?

Also, is it imperative that I run an isolator, if I dont listen much with the engine turned off?

Help a brotha'.

I'm pretty sure you won't need an isolater and you can run the wiring in both ways however it would be easier to ground straight to the chassis in the back and I know that your supposed to keep your grounds as short as possible. But then again, I'm not an expert in wiring.

- to - and + to+ with big 3 upgrade is best IMO. But it can get expensive and is not necessary. (- to -) If you use the proper size wire for your application, and "bolt" the ground instead of screwing it down you will be fine. Remember to remove paint and bolt to clean metal. Keep in mind that with electrical systems, you are only as strong as your weakest link.
