Rudy Guiliani for Universe's Biggest Douche: 2008

I prefer to think that my money is at least going somewhere, rather than being drained into trying to police the war and starting WWIII.
the democrats will not change that. they talk a big game, but when it comes right down to it, we are there to stay regardless of who's in office. do you think the dems would pull out and let those people get slaughtered? they're the touchy feely party.

There are some very serious problems with many of the candidates this go around. Obama is going to give everyone a good run for their money.
I admit I was developing some interest in Huckabee for a little while but he is just way too socially conservative for me and his track record shows liberal fiscal planning.
that is the problem with the DEM REP crap, everyone has there feeet on both sides of the fence. I would love to see on a scale of 1-5 where everyone places themselves, liberal to conservative.

That doesn't mean they shouldn't be supported. If we follow your train of thought, we should all just pick the most popular candidate at the beginning and leave it at that.
People should never be afraid of supporting what they feel is right just because the numbers are against them. I tip my hat to those who stand-by the fringe candidates through to the end.
party trumps person. party trumps person. party trumps person. i've said it a million times around here and never get a response. i'm beginning to think noone knows what that means.

very true, you don't hear them screaming about the surge now do you, AHH it worked, they would have to eat their words if they brought it up.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

how much you wanna bet a large majority is at 3.

I think the Democrats this year are more Liberal than they've ever been. It's the Republicans who look a bit confused. Giuliani has a great shot at being the Republican candidate despite being fairly socially liberal and Huckabee is pulling into second.

It's a weird time for the Republican party but that's the type of corner they've been backed into.

I know what it means but you have to support the people or the positions we vote them into will hold no meaning.

Party dictates politics, which is why independants can play out in the big picture. If an independant runs the risk of taking away enough votes for a dem/rep to lose it for them, don't you think they (dems/reps) are going to look at the issues that independant is running and try to change their platform to pick up those voters?

Not saying the dem/rep who picks up the issue will do what they say, I can almost guarantee its a lie just to get votes. But the independant can be an influence to politics...

I think you are right, the majority of people have no balls, they are middle of the road and have been trained to be politically correct. We need to look at our country and decide where we want to go, bigger gov, further moral decay or smaller gov and leave it to beaver? but have the balls to say so. I would rather fail to the leave it to beaver side than have a strip club and wellfare office on every corner. but that is my opinion

i wish. this country is ran by special interests and unions. the person in office makes no difference. all their "rally the troops" speeches mean nothing after innauguration. that is what needs changed in america. i use colorado's governor as an example (democrat). i think he's a good man. i'd let him watch my kids. now that he's governor, his political policies are disgusting. he's probably still a good man.

what is the #1 goal of any politician? getting re-elected. that says it all.
