Ive heard the older rubi is pretty underrated, but i dont know for sure...

its for a 15K, its gonna be ported tuned to 22hz, 3.5 cubes.

i would personally give the 15 K a little bit more....something around 700....but thats just me. it can take more than the rated RMS

Yeah i know it can but i think it was....Loyd that said that more than 500 watts its no diff than 500 watts or sumthin like that....

I say go with the mono one, the first choice. Just because a sub can take more than its RMS doesn't mean it needs more...
