RSDC124 vs. GPV15d2: which would you pick?

My friend has an 01 monte carlo, that I'm getting ready to put a system in. He wants a decent sounding fairly loud system. He has say 5 cubic feet net for subs.

It will most likely build a ported enclosure for it.

Here are my sub choices:

2 Phoenix Gold RSDC124s on a Soundstream 900.1d

600 watts rms each

good sq

$200 shipped for both

or

2 Crunch Ground Pounder GPV15d2 subs on a approx 1000-1200 watt rms amp

700 watts rms each

decent sq from what I've read... I've heard iggy's old ground pounder 12s and they sounded good and got loud.

$160 shipped for both

Durability is a factor as the last sub he blew, he didn't even realize it until I pointed it out and it was physically locked up and the pressure from the other sub was making the locked sub create LOUD popping noises.

Go with pyramid pw1856x 15"s from ebay. They are availible in 12"s too. I guarantee hell be happy with them. I had a pair and i have abused the pure shit out of them for 6+ months and theyre still going strong.
