I'm going to be taking the windshield out of my grand am and pounding back the roof skin to get it ready for a new windshield..( hit a deer , pics below) Afew questions..

1) Whats the best way to take off the headliner without destroying it? i want the cloth to be as in good of condition as possible so when it goes back in it does'nt look like crap..

2) Any bodywork people in here or any suggestions on how to get the crease dent out of the skin? i know it does'nt look bad , but i bet this is one of those things im going to underestimate and will be at it all day .. thanks, matt

poor deer -blood?

i don't know what kind of car you have so i can't really help ya much but on my beretta to take out the headliner you need to remove the a-pillars, the 2 hanger hooks in the rear and the dome light fixture support... and i think theres 1 more thing im missing... im not too sure as its been a while but it wasn't really all that hard and it just came down in one piece

btw i took off the cloth that was sagging and replaced it with carpet.. now not only does it look nicer it helps the roof from flexing when i have my system wanging

Its a 96 grand am gt, the liner is perfect now, no hanging or anything, but i have a feeling that will change //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Wtf....

Anyone have any ideas??? on the skin ?/ I really need a lil input , if the the body work, what should i do to keep the liner in good shape

A good pointer... Do not play low sweep or burps or anything that flexed the windshield before //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

to remove the headliner I would remove the A and P pillars, center light, hanger hooks and visors, drop all the seats back drop the headliner and remove it out the back door diagnally.

the roof skin they usually use a puller welder and spot weld a metal stick in the center of the dent then pull it out with a pop puller.

I got everything off and cleaned up ready to go, but now im stuck.. THe beam that goes across the front of theskin is right in the way of doing anything, its about a 4 inch wide thin piece of metal, So i yhink from this point im going to need someone pull the dent, unless theres another way, ill get pics when i can i had to hurry and cover it since i got caught in a downpour with no windshield //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
