you need to give up what you're smoking dood..... no one has even come close to beating the Pats this year except on weeks that they've gotten bored with having their way with teams...... now that it's the playoffs they'll be playing even harder..... good luck with the jags prediction...... BWAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA.....
If any AFC team can be the Patriots it is the Jags. Don't get me wrong, the Chargers...are overrated and one dimensional, and the Colts...well lets just say that if the Patriots lose to the Colts during the midst of one of the greatest Seasons in NFL History, at home, during the playoffs, with everyone healthy (minus colvin and the other IR's of course) Belechick would most likely kill himself along with the entire Patriots team.
But the one team that can beat them is the Jags. If the weather gets nasty in Foxborough (i'm guessing the game is on sunday) which it might, as the forcast for Sunday/Monday calls for very cold temperatures and snow showers (at least on the one i'm looking at) The patriots won't be able to throw. I mean, it's just not gonna happen.
So then it comes down to who can run better. And please, if you say the Pats, you are joking yourself. Maurice Jones-Drew and Fred Taylor are both exceptional backs, who in tandem, can provide a fresh set of legs for every down. Not to mention David Garrard can run a bit too (as evidenced by the season-saving 32 yard run he pulled off in the 4th quarter)
Not to mention the Jags are a physical team- there defence can get up in the face of brady and stop the run.
So if it comes down to a running game- which it has a good possibility of doing, the Jags have the advantage.
Don't get me wrong, Tom Brady is having a great season, and Randy Moss, Wes Welker, etc, etc are good WR's, but as evidenced with the Jets game (i'm sure they would have loved to score more the 20) A unstoppable passing attack just isn't going to happen in shitty weather.
So lets see if they can rely on Maroney against a good defence.
I might add:
The Jags Losses:
2 against Indy, one very close
1 close one against Tennessee (who might I add made the playoffs)
1 against a solid texans that meant nothing
1 against the Saints....wtf? i guess the saints were rolling.
I'm not saying it's gonna be a blowout, more like the game they just played against Pittsburgh
but when push comes to shove, are you gonna take a Major Pass Attack or a Major Rushing attack when it is nasty, snowing, raining and windy and freezing?
