Rockford R600-4D and ID XS65 bridged?

I've been searching high and low for a replacement amp for my existing R600-4D. The cheap end was a PPI 900 and then it dawned on me: could I just keep the amp I have?

I hear that running the XS65 (currently passive) at 250 makes these comps "sing." I can bridge the R600 which, supposedly, will put out 325 watts. Would this be overkill? Could I put the left channel as the "front" and the right channel as the "rear?" Anyone know how I'd do this with a Helix DSP without using y-splitters?

Should I replace this amp with something else now or down the road? I have no intention of running rear fill and I value SQ over SPL any day. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Running them active is definitely in the plans but with this subzero weather we're seeing in New England, I'm not too sure if I want to run new speaker wire yet.

Let's say I did: would ~100w RMS to the woofers and the tweeters sound better than having the crossover there with 100w running to the crossover? The answer seems obvious but I want to make sure.

Just use the wires you already have. You're not pulling that much power to worry about it. But the mid would definitely like the extra power. Just becareful of the extra power to the tweeter, they are normally are more efficient and don't need to the extra power.

I hear ya about the ne weather, it's snowing right now in ma and I've got stuff I want to do.

Where you at in MA? I just dropped off a friend at Logan and about to head back to Greenfield.

Use the existing wires? Don't have wires for the tweets as they're coming off the passives I've got in there now.

So I read on another forum that running the tweets at 100w might be overkill. It's best to run the woofers high, tweets low.

How is this accomplished on a four channel amp? Using the gain? I'd just set the gain lower for the tweets than what it is on the woofers...?
