Ok.. So I am making a box for this subwoofer. I have my volume ready. I'm going with a 1cu. ft. setup with a port. The design on my WinISP Pro tells me I am going to put the port in the rear i guess. How do I know where exactly to place the port to tune it right, or does just the width and length of the port matter? Also, when making a box. Do I consider the size of the subwoofer and compensate the volume of the box? Like the Wooder Displacement is i think 2.1 ft^3. So would I make the box actually bigger to get the 1ft^3?

Edit: Haha, wait that's 2.1 Liters and .074 ft^3

Am I looking for Gross or Net box volume. I have a few calculators

Gross volume is minus port volume and sub woofer displacement.

gross is total, net volume is after sub and port displacement

Does anyone know if port placement is important? If not then I'm just going to start building tomorrow. Can anyone tell me so I can get this monster started?

there is no set in stone placement for ports, but i always try to put the port mouth on the same side of the box as the sub with the port as far away from the sub as i can. (port all the way to one side sub all the way to the other side)

This thing is a wanker!! I put it next to my friend's 12" in a baffle setup and it hits harder and louder, especially in the lows. The only downside is that the highs are a tad weak. You can go easy on the screws next time. You only need about 3 on each side for a box that size.

I think I used too many screws... If I didn't make pilot holes before using the screws the top on all of the MDF would have been split.
