Rockford Fosgate vs. Soundstream???

Ok here's the deal. I have an 06 Honda Civic Ex. I have limited space in the trunk and I don't have room for a huge box for a couple subs. I already have a line of rockford fosgate stuff as follows:

P4004 - 4 channel amp - mids/highs

P5002 - 2 channel amp - sub (eventually subs)

P3SD410 - Sub (adding a second in the future)

T162S Components - for front and rear

P1T Tweeters - in the dash

I've recently started looking at Soundstream equipment. I was wondering what the comparison is between the two in quality and as well price. I see on the soundsteam website they are comming out with a shallow mount sub as well but it doesn't look like it's out yet. I am looking for good quality sound, as well as SQ out of the trunk. I have two small children (1 and 3) so I need my trunk space which is why the shallow mount subs work for me cause I can utilize the rear corners of the trunk and be able to put stuff back there still. I am building a raised floor in the trunk to house the amps, caps, db's, etc on an amp rack that is hinged so I can get to the spare tire. That's all I need is to be on the road and stranded somewhere with my girls and no spare. Sorry for the long Post, but if anyone can give me ideas since I have a while before install starts. If I am better off with the soundstream I still have time to return the fosgate stuff and buy the soundstream. The following is what I'm running as a head unit etc.

Pioneer AVIC-D3 Navi/DVD player

Pioneer Bluetooth

Pioneer Sirius Adaptor

Pioneer Ipod Adaptor

Optima Yellow Top Battery

Rockford Fosgate Capacitor 2 Farad

get rid of the cap first of all. And rockford makes some nice stuff, not a fan of their Punch series though. Soundstream just hasn't been the same ever since Power Acoustik took over //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

What's wrong with the cap? Just out of curiosity. Do I not need it or what do you suggest?

It's not necessary, a cap won't really help your electrical at all. Do some research and you'll know why. Save your money for a deep cycle battery and do the Big3(search for it) and you should be good

So if I have the deep cell battery, which I think that i have. I got a yellow top optima the other day delivered. So with that and the big 3 you think I'd be ok?

yes but the cap is only if your alternator can't keep up with your battery going down (for example if the light is dimming when it plays the bass)

The cap won't hurt anything per se, but it won't help anything either. If space is tight, you can save space by not installing it.

As far as quality between RF and SS I'd say it's a wash. You already have the RF stuff no reason to swap it out.

i am a fosgate dealer. the fosgate subs sound great in large enclosures but, in small enclosures they do not shine like some other subs.

you can install both if you want. Like helotaxi stated, it won't hurt, but it won't help either. You can just sell it and get some of your money back for other stuff you need.
