Rockford 4 channel amp sending static to speakers?

Hello.

So i picked up a new rockford p400-4 4 channel amp for my inside speakers. I have 4" bostons up front and 6 1/2" JL's in the rear. After the install i noticed static coming from all 4 speakers when the gain is raised.

-The static goes away if i lower the gain.

-Static is still present with the stereo off

-Static is still present with the RCA's disconnected to the amplifier

I thought that it may have been a bad ground at the amp, but i added a jumper ground from the battery (which is only a foot away) straight to that ground and it didn't help.

Anyone have any advice on this issue or anything else i should try?

turn your gain down....plenty of amps will emit a hiss if the gain is boosted even without signal.

If you have strong enough pre-outs on your HU lowered gains shouldnt hurt

I did try that. I have a pioneer HU with a pre-out of 5V. I lowered the gain until i didn't hear any static, but the gain was just under a quarter turn. When i cranked the volume, it doesn't produce enough music (my factory HU is louder.) //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
