I expect to see a 10+ ft^3 box in your van, within the next month Frosty pal:up2somet:

Sure, send me $600 or so via Paypal, and it'll happen //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Otherwise, it'll wait until spring...

WTF man....my protos displace A LOT more air than your production model...mine have about 10mm more Xmax....
WTF are your enclosure sized so big for the 15? I relize the reasoning behind the lard ported (to get a flat response=huge box+tune low) BUT TEN CUBES SEALED???????? During testing, Mike (not you) and myself have both found that the deep bass output is significantly higher around 3 cubes total...BUT...of course thats with 2000Wrms ++++ on them....Is this why??? Because you RMS is only 1000W???

Cause I mean...SDP himself told me to run 2.5 net sealed per 15" with my current power...(5000Wrms for pair)

Explain a bit if you can...
Factor in the DAF. (Dumbass Factor)

(Now speaking from a Manufacture's standpoint) You sell somebody a high excursion driver with the potential to break if you do not know what you are doing (i've had personal expirence with these type of soft part arrangements and they do indeed buckle under pressure)....then you (as a manufacture) are in for a PILE of warranty work....It's much easier to tone it down, under rate the thing and keep your warranty/return % to a minimum. And make it so in your warranty that as a manufacture you are not at fault for abuse....

Welcome to the wonderful world of physics.

I told you that it'd have to have a huge sealed enclosure to get a decently flat response what....a week and a half ago maybe?

One of the many drawbacks to a High Q woofer, with litterally no Bl.

Anyone else disappointed with what they have seen so far? Granted I haven’t seen much.

ummm, nope.

actually, i'm quite pleased with the rl-s, even though i've only gotten just a few moments with it installed.

currently, it's living in 2.5ft^3 tuned to 28hz powered by an orion 2500d @ 3.5ohm, or just a bit more then 1400wrms. and, well, it's a pretty awesome driver, that's for **** sure.

i'm going to give it a few more days, and see how it goes. sealed box testing? no way, lol....i'm goin to leave that for someone else! it sounds way too **** good as is...i'm not changing a thing until i absolutely have to take it out to ship to the next person......and i dunno if i even wanna do that..lol..

Well that is good to hear. I still have an open mind.

mista ray:

Hypothetically speaking, 2.5 @ 28 is lookin' to peak +7 db @ 33-35 Hz

So my question is, do you find the peak readily audible during performance?

I've yet to try a vented box that small so I would appreciate the feedback

hey mike....can i see a model of my design 4 the sub.....i'm going to try a bandpass box

each sub will be in a .833 sealed (after displacement) playing into a common 1.837ported(after port displacement)

the port will be 63square inches and 15deep..i would like to see how that is modeled on your program

i'm only trying 2 12's
