u know as volume goes up the efficiency gain of d over a/b levels out...
Sure.....but how often you going be playing it balls to the wall? It's that 1/3 power level where efficiency is 35% that'd worry me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif

leave me alone..ok?!?!?!

lmao...

man, u guys are ruthless....i'm glad i'm so nice..

and if that sub sounds as good as it looks, it'll be balls to the wall quite a bit actually...lol

lol...nope..but then again, i wasn't the first with an rl-p or even an rl-i...jsut the first with the 8" rl-i..lol..

but don't worry, hehe, i will own one!

I think you will be very happy with this sub. It's very similar to the prototypes that I have. I don't believe they have the flatwire coil like my new nomex ones do, but rather the round wire like my old pair with the aluminum cone. Check them out in my sig.

Xmax of 38mm is pretty good, but I wonder why they toned it down from the Prototypes...Mine have 46mm+ Xmax.

This sub will reach its full excursion and sound the same throughout its stroke. Basically zero distortion sealed. But, one main drawback is that its kind of a sealed only sub by design. Its designed to sound great throughout a huge excursion, and a ported box basically increases efficiancy by limiting the drivers excursion.

For a 15", I was told to run 2.5 cube sealed with fill.

If your looking for CRAZY deep bass, then this is the sub for you.

Those of you looking to run A LOT of power to one should be able to do it without too much problem. I have a pair right now with 2500Wrms per sub, and they take it without yelping. lol. But to those of you with less power, 1000Wrms happens to be just fine, I actually tested one out with just 600Wrms on it. It still sounded great and got really loud.

From what I have been told by TC sounds, there is very good reason why there arent 18" models, and its only made with 3.5 ohm coils.

The only cone that is suitable for an 18" LMT is a pressed paper cone, (due to factors I don't know about). This obviously would be a little weird to have the 12 and 15 look different than the 18.

The LMT uses a varying density voice coil which is thicker at the top, middle, and bottom. This is how they get a flat BL throughout the stroke. Its VERY hard to create a varying density coil that has a resistance less than 2.5 ohm. Soundsplinter apparently chose 3.5 because it would be best for most applications, although it is possible to make 2.5 , 3 , and 4 ohm coils. TC Sounds is working on a way to make a DVC varying density coil. But, there are several barriers they have to break.

If you have any other questions about some stuff I didn't cover, I can probobly answer them. But I don't have any information about price ect.

Sorry, but I cant figure out how to do the video on this camera...****it.
