RL-p Sounding Like Shit

What's up guys. I just installed my equipment about a week ago. It has never sounded right since day one. I have a 12" RL-p being sent 600 watts RMS from an Orion 600D. HU is an Alpine 9856. It sounds pretty solid up to about volume 20(out of 35). Then past there, it just sounds like total shit. It makes like a virbrating noise every time it hits. It is hard to explain. Like the noise is comming from inside the box or something. I have my gain set at 24.5 volts like it should be etc. I have no idea why it sounds like that. Thanks for any help.

I dont think improper power/ground wires are gonna make weird sounds come from the speaker box.

Sounds like tis either a leak in the box, or a motor/suspnsion problem with the driver. Check for leaks in the box first, then play the sub outside the enclosure (on low volume) and listen/watch for any problems with the raw driver.

4 ga. Ported enclosure. 1.5 cu. ft. @34 hz.

i think it could be a leak somewhere, i had the same problem and replaced some screws where it was leaking and everything was fine. you'll be able to hear it if its around the mounting holes by pressing softly on the cone while its not playing. i suggested that a while ago. did you try?

It moves fine. And I doubt it's a leak. It sounds to loud to be a leak..

Man i got the smae problem. I had my l7's for 2 days on the second day it started from 1- 12/15 it plays fine nothing wrong just hits and sounds perfect. After that it gets this wierd buzz sound when it hits bass. Im taking it to a shop tommorow to get an answer. Ill fill ya in and tell ya what htey say.
