Smells like a box issue to me. Do you have any duct tape or caulk rope? Try sealing up the sub cause it sounds like you got an air leak somewhere. Also inspect the box to make sure no pieces or braces are loose. I would silicone the entire inside of the box as well.Sounds fine at all frequencies on free-air testing
New. Its not even 2 months oldNew or old style bl?
This wouldnt explain how the coil managed to move out of the gap and fall back in at one pointSmells like a box issue to me. Do you have any duct tape or caulk rope? Also this. I had a DD 1008 that made a nasty sound on the highs and a tiny bit of glue solved that issue..there was a small airhole between the dustcap and the cone and it would make a nasty sound on anything over 60hzYou sure the dustcap isnt loose? For weeks my buddys BL 10" sounded like hell and reason was half the dust cap became unglued.
not noticable till actually lightly prying up on the dustcap. Got worse the more it played.
Try that out.
And how would a coil fall out of the gap ?
you'd literally have to over excurt it to the point of no return.
I mean it looks fine, it might be. Theres no holes on the magnet so the dust cap was always hot. Also this. If there is a hole you won't be able to see it it would be the size of a pinhole....play it free air and feel around the dustcap and see if you can feel any air coming out. Have it on low volume and put some pressure on the cap while it's playing and see if it goes awayI mean it looks fine, it might be. Theres no holes on the magnet so the dust cap was always hot.
edit: It looked fine, glue was secure as hell. I took some shotty pictures ill upload as soon as i can. Couldnt get anything under the cap to even pull it without scraping away the glue
I couldnt find any, but it sounds like its internal in the woofer itself. We tried holding the sub down just to see what it did, but to no availAre sure your box doesn't have an air leak somewhere, if that isn't the exact problem, it might have caused the problem
That's paid for me so i can attend my classes. It might be the coil, i dont know. I cant send it in for warranty cause i repaired the tinsel leads and that voids itHow do you put gas in your car with no income? And pay insurance?Maybe the coil is coming unwound.
