Rip 2 Memphis 12's...but how?

So i threw my two memphis pr 12's in my box i bought for my sundown e 12's(waiting for my sundowns to come in)(l ported 1.75 cubes each tuned to 36 hz)

They were banging and working fine on pandora ,until i put a young jeezy cd in and after a few songs. I heard no more bass. checked the trunk and they were toast

I got a stock 05 impala,4guage,gain set with dmm.Amp is a hifonics brz 1200.1. How did this happen?

Agree with both. Power most probable cause. I did the same thing with some old JL's. Killed em quick too...

clipping, I ran some pr12s over the summer and beat the shit out of them on ~1k with no probs, very nice entry level subs that get fairly loud with relatively good sq

voltage drop, bass boost, headunit clip at high volume, song you were playing was clipped from the studio

you can still clip even when you set the gain with a dmm

You set it for 1200 watts? Amp dont make 1200 watts after all the varibles took effect. So it was clipped

One was still alive ,until tonight , it just had the rips across the speaker , ? is what ohm what it getting since the other pr was dead, i had the blow one not hooked up
