Rims or No rims?

I own a 96 Ford Contour GL. I got it for free and it does not look like I will be able to buy a new car anytime soon (no room to keep it/insurance reasons). So I need to work with what I got (still like it better than a civic). I have this Contour and was wondering if I should put rims on it or not. I already paid a lot and have more stereo gear than the car is worth in it. I know doing things like that are stupid to cars. But there is no option to just buy a better car for me. Should I put rims on my car or not?

I have enough money to buy rims for it. I would be looking around the $1,000 - $1,150 range. Is it worth putting rims on the car or not? any suggestions as well for rims and anything else I might want to look into doing for my car?

Pics dont work. Im in a similar situation as you, and I decided rims were the least of my worries. Not worth it.

i wouldn't bother. your money could be spent much better ways. save it towards something that you can actually use.

BTW, thats not my actual car but mine looks very, very similar to that. Mine's a 96.

If you want rims, you should get them. But find something you like, dont just decide to get rims, and then end up not liking them.

get some chrome 18s with a biglip put some lockin lugs on it and ride, theres some locklugs now that are like impossible to get in without the tool

on a contour i say no...

lol, no respect for a contour... just like I used to be. They are actually reliable cars (or for me anyways). But if I owned a SVT, would putting rims on that be cool? My goal is to find one for sale around where I live, buy it and say it is a GL and it is actually the same car as what I have and try to play it off as a GL for insurance purposes... lol Big dreams that will never happen.

no chrome man.. I'm not a fan of most cars with chrome rims.
