wondering if i should rid my 10w7 in a ported box and get 2 12L7's.. i wanted to sell my truck and took the box out where it was sittin in my 60/40 bench in the rear of my crew cab gmc hd2500 .. (i had takenout the 40 and stuck a ported box there).. anyways.. i kinda like it better and so do some of my buddies since they dont have to sit so close to eachther. plus i think it will be a lil bit cleaner keeping the seat. but im wondering if i should sacrifice that w7...

I think you would be lossing alot of sq going to the l7s but would be picking up some in output. All depends what your looking for im very happy with my l7

Shows you how biased people really are...i know you get it a lot Polecat.

Like he said...the SQ of the L7's depend on the user and enclosure. Granted they are extremely easy to get loud, some people actually can have a nice sounding setup using them. All depends on the work you put into it and what you want out of it.

after 6 years of winning top SQ awards, they still get dissed for bad SQ.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

but any driver can be made to sound like crap, even the top of the line woofers, install, install, install...a huge ported box with 1500-2000 watts, is NOT a SQ system. Now if you have great mids, highs, and the proper setup, you will love the Q of an L7.

i have focal mids n highs... the box will be sealed whereas the box for the JL is currently ported.. i cant remem at what hertz... but i planned on doing the 12's behind the backseat of my crew cab with the seat resting on the deep box.. granted the "recline" of the rear seat will be lost but hell im not going to sit back there.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/naughty.gif.94359f346c0f1259df8038d60b41863e.gif

thanks for the help

whats good for a pickup then.. i originally had my w7 in my tahoe but totaled it.. o well.. so now i am limited to airspace but want somethin that pounds.. hard

i'd stick with the w7, imo L7's **** there good spl subs, sq is subjective so, but the build quality sucks majorly, i have a friend running a 15L7 with a kx600.1 and blew it 3 times, well didn't blow it just ripped the spider and cone a couple times, so if i were you i'd stay away, unless you wanna recone a sub every month.

thats what i thought the first time he blew it so i checked everything and it was right, dvc4, wired parrellel for 2ohms, and i re-set the gain, and still 2 weeks later the cone rips, now he runs a cvx12 and hasn't had a problem yet.

yuh i just dont know of a great speaker with a small enclosure size.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
