Lol.
So you seriously think that header and CAI dont do any improvements what so ever ?
They do if done properly. An unshielded CAI sitting on top of the engine doesnt bring in cold air. It brings in hot air. Second headers without a larger downpipe or proper exhaust modifications is restrictive and hurts performance. More air in, more air out the better, but since the exhaust is restrictive you are getting more air in with the less out and more restriction than stock.

Wrong.

A motor needs air. Period. Cold air is denser so cold air means more air. But hot air is still air and more of it will still cause benefits.

And a stock exhaust manifold is easily the most restrictive part in the exhaust. Adding that header alone will add benefits. Then the convertor would be the next most restrictive. The best thing for any motor on earth would be open long tube headers. Anything short of that will most likely burn exhaust valves. But in short. That header is better than what was there, whether anything else behind was fixed or not. And a downpipe does not apply to this situation because i dont believe that car is a turbo car.

How does adding a less restrictive header to a stock exhaust make the entire system more restrictive? Maybe Im about to learn something here.

Your late. But wonderful question.

The combustion chambers have more air than they can handle which is more air that needs to get through the stock restrictive exhaust than normal. Its like ******* a baseball through a garden hose.

That doesnt answer my question, at all. This answer implies the CAI is the problem, not the exhaust header.

The headers dont by themselves. They open up the intial exit, but as soon as the exhaust hits the downpipe is all channeled through a much smaller system so it makes the headers useless for performance gains. They werent implemented correctly.

Still not answering how a new and less restrictive header will make the over all exhaust system more restrictive. That is what you said, after all.

So the header itself is useless for performance gain ? Just by adding that header you might see a few extra miles per gallon if you drove the same before and after. And an engine cant have too much air. Saying the combustion chambers have too much air on their hands is stupid. You can have too much fuel which means not enough air, or too little fuel which means more air than needed but a combustion chamber will never have too much air on its hands. Opening up the initial exit is the most important piece in an exhaust. Keeping everything else in the exhaust system the same, you could see a few HP/TQ and some gas miliage. Nothing amazing or performance worthy or even noticable to the driver but on a Dyno, it would show improvement.

The entire exhaust system is the exit. Any bends in it and youve defeated the purpose of the headers making them useless hence the need for an entire and proper exhaust system if your going to use headers and implement them properly.

Thats like slapping on an upgraded turbo with a stock BOV. Sure it has potential, but its still just as restrictive as the stock part.
