So yeah, ever since it got cold up here, I've been getting snaps, crackles and pops in my system that I never got when it was still warm. On Friday, the temperature here dipped to 25 or so, and ever since, it sounds like I'm listening to a dirty record. Any ideas on what's causing this?

even after your car warms up? it might be moisture that typically wouldn't affect performance getting frozen somewhere in your drivers and causing pops?

yeah it's CD's only. i've tried the aux in with my laptop and no crackles. I've tried unscratched CD's, CD-R's, etc. and I always get crackles

then its less likely that it has anything to do with any of your other equipment, just the hu maybe...let it warm up a while

it sounds like condesation on the lens. maybe it dried leaving a residue.
