Rice cans

Putting stickers that are false (A type R badge on a non type R car, a NOS sticker on a car with no NOS, putting K&N sticker on with no K&N product on car) on your car is being rice. Placing non-performance parts that just add weight to your car (eg. some stress bars, spoilers (wings), 8" mufflers, 19" crome rims, outrageous body kits) is also true rice. Making a car look like another more expensive car (adding audi crap to your civic trying to make it look like a true audi). Those crome hubcaps with the fake rotors are serious rice. Saying you can beat such and such car when you clearly can't or claiming things your car cannot do is rice.

Rice has a very large gray area. This stuff can be considerd rice or just trying to be different. Things that fall into this catergory are: Racing seats with 4-point harness (with no intention of ever going racing). Stickers and vynal covering the whole car. Stupid mulitoned homemade pait jobs (ala '70's VW bus). Any crome rims. Most aftermarket 17"+ rims.3" exaust. Altezza (clear) tail lights. Crossdrilled rotors. Too Low lowering springs. Body kits.

Someone replacing there Honda engine with a high hp B18 engine is not a ricer. Adding a supercarger or turbo charger to your car is not being a ricer. Lowering your car (not too much) is not being a ricer. Adding any performance enhancing product is not being a ricer. Not everyone can afford to buy a corvette. People make do with what they can get. Some want a little more zip out of the car they could afford. And don't go saying 4 cylinder cars are rice. An audi 1.8 liter turbocharged 4-banger can easily get over 250 hp with little modification. The new WRX STI 2.5 liter 4 is making 300 hp/ 300 lb/f. WRC cars are making over 600 hp unrestricted (300 hp/550 lb/f restricted) from a turbocharged 2.0 liter. Someone in the NHRA (can't remember who) is suppose to be running a 2.3 liter ford duratec 4 cylinder at over 1,000 hp next year. None of that is rice.

Great definitions.............how about some for audio?? I am being serious here too.

I could not even begin to say what is rice and what is not for car audio. While I have been into car audio for some years it's only been for myself. I just do it to please me. I really don't take notice too often of others systems. Unfortunatly my goals are somewhat different than what I have observed the majority of people on this board have in mind. I just want a pleasing sounding system that does not nessesarily get all that loud. Most people on here seem to go for SPL with large subs. That's fine. It's what they want. It's not what I go for. I don't even know what would even constitute rice for car audio. Maybe someone can enlighten me on this?

Wow there on the Sony being rice. While I agree the explode line is more show than go Sony did at one time make some good products. There Mobile ES line was well established and good sounding from top to bottom.

this is to go with the whole GMC GEO Tracker contreversy, GM bought out GEO in like 97 or 98 and in between there the kept the GEO badge on the Tracker and in the same year the made some with the GMC badge........

Also don't think that a Civic, CRX, Camry or anyother sedan/compact will EVER be a sports car. Thats like calling a GMC tracker an SUV.
Actually, you can make them quite the sports car. I have seen a couple CRX's that have over 500hp and maybe they arent the stock motor but it is still a honda engine. Either way, I hate these debates and I guess I am somewhat biased as I own a CRX but I know their potential. You cant compare it to a V8 but if you put it up against other cars in its class it does quite well. ANyway, I am done with this. Have a nice day
500hp doesnt mean its a sports car, they will still handle like shit and they can never get traction anyways because there to stupid to realize that stock tires ****...i ****in HATE ricers with a passion, always have always will, i dont care if it has a turbo and makes 500+hp it still sounds like *** and its STILL a 4cyl.

There attitude is what pisses me off the most, they think there topshit and thing they can beat any american made car. Theres a riced out honda around town her with a 'stage 2 turbo' on a stock block, he races stock cars and brags about it, like a stock civic or cavalier. But yet when somone actualy presents a challenge to him (like my buddys n/a 450whp chevelle) he calls them a ***** and says he wont waste his time....what kind of bull shit is that? Thats ricer attitude for ya.....
