RF noise on amps when on trunk floor

When we sit the amps on the trunk floor the get RF noise. We think its comming from the fuel tank. Maybe the fuel pump...

We have checked all grounds, done the Big 3 and even tried diff amps. Its the same for any amp we sit on the trunk floor (Mmats, Image Dynamics, JL Audio and Tru). If we lift the amps up about 2 inches off the floor, the noise goes away.

Does anyone know if some lead (roofing) flashing will block this noise? I found a sheet of 30 x 30 lead flashing for $80 but i dont wanna pay that much for it if its not gonna help.

Thanks

mount the amps to a wood board, secure the wood board to the vehicle. maybe even put a layer of wire mesh on the bottom of the board and ground it.

never ground the amp chassis to the body directly via screws or mounting.

try some uncoated screen material that is grounded to the floor. put a layer of it on the bottom of the MDF - with some stand-offs. that should shield the amps if proximity to the floor is the cause - similar to a Faraday cage.

also, double check your amp mounting screws didn't penetrate the wood and ground to the metal.
