RF 6001bd load question.

4 Ohm Load Mono 300 Watts x 1 RMS

2 Ohm Load Mono 600 Watts x 1 RMS

This amp has A & B Channels wired in parallel internally.

Question.

I bought an SVC 4 Ohm wired to one channel. What are the repurcussions of wiring a 4 ohm sub to a 2 ohm channel and is there a way to wire the SVC sub to both channels to get the 4 ohm load? Also, being that the 2 ohm load is rated for 600 RMS and the sub is rated for 300 RMS, am I causing damage to the sub?

I am not sure I am asking the question clearly so forgive me if you need clarification.

i am assuming you have two channels on the amp which is just for ease of wiring so just birdge the two channels for your sub and the amp will see a 4ohm load and your sub will get 300 rms

My only concern with this is there is no bridging information in the manual. This makes me think this amp is not meant for bridging.

that's a mono amp. since your sub is 4 ohms the amp will read a 4 ohm load and put out the 4 ohm power. there is no channel for 4 ohms and 2 ohms. you wire the sub for an impedance and the amp will read that impedance and produce the power accordingly

The way the wiring shows the install is if I use channel A I get 2 ohms and if I use A & B I get 4 ohms each.

Am I misunderstanding the wiring diagram?

do what i said take the pos end from the sub and put it in one channel and then take the neg and put it on the opposite channel

I didn't think there was a need to bridge a mono amp. Thanks for clarifying. I wasn't a 100% sure.

yes i know that but the op doesn't seem to know what he is doing so i figured he would understand what i was saying.

basically what it's telling you is that you can only run 2 4 ohm subs cause that will equal 2 ohms, or a single 2 ohm voice coil cause that is 2 ohms. basically your final impedance can't be lower then 2 ohms.
